About Us

Your Church is a light to the world!

Making the Church visible in your society by helping the needy… You understand that vision! Your desire is to be part of  this. We believe your passion as a pioneer can make the difference! Welcome, here’s what you can do next:

Connect with The Act Foundation. They are managing Help in Practice (HiP) worldwide and will offer you (for free) all kinds of materials like presentations and brochures etc. They will also help you throughout the process of becoming a mature organization. Remember, you are not on your own, the people from The Act Foundation will help you!

Then, connect with pastors and church leaders who are interested in seeing their town reached with the love of Christ. Inform them by using our brochures and website to explain the vision and concept of HiP. At the end of the day, they have to embrace the vision and want to be partakers in it.

“The best way to communicate an idea is to wrap it in a person.”

(J. Robert Oppenheimer)

Look for people who are interested to become board members of your local HiP to be established in due course. This board will eventually consist of several skilled Christians in the fields of management, communication and finance. Since a high level of trust and responsibility is required of these people, all board members and future staff must be known, and trustworthy people who live a life of faith – not only in words, but in deeds as well. The board is your team! They will serve you (in encouragement, correction, and practical assistance). You will need a winning team to win the game!

Together with your team, make a business plan for the next three years, to make HiP possible in your city and/or country. We can offer you a template to assist you. Prepare the organization for registration by the government.

Invite the founder of HiP, Walter Willigenburg to join the process. Ask him to share his vision and experience. Much work is already done in other countries. Use what is already available! And build  a communication with other HiP NGOs.

Take the initiative to organize gatherings and meetings to involve more people who can help make HiP possible.

Pray for your country, the church, and for HiP. Pray for the people and finances to make it work. Open a (small) office to make the operation visible to your stakeholders. Ask people to volunteer for jobs in the office. When God provides with finances, professionalize the organization with a (small) paid staff and invest in means and materials.

“Develop a big dream, but take small steps.”

(Walter Willigenburg, founder of HiP)
